Salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone. He is the only way to God (Acts 4:12; John 14:6). Through His death on the cross, Jesus paid the price for our sins (1 Peter 2:24). Because of His great love, He offers forgiveness, new life, and the opportunity to become children of God to all who believe in Him (Hebrews 9:26; John 1:12).

When we place our faith in Jesus, God begins a powerful work in us. We are filled with the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). Our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life (Revelation 3:5). We become citizens of heaven (Philippians 3:20–21) and receive the gift of eternal life (John 3:16). We are adopted into God’s family (Galatians 4:4–7), our sins are completely forgiven (Hebrews 8:12), and we are made righteous through Christ (Romans 4:4–5). We are born again (John 3:3), belong to God (1 Corinthians 6:20), and are given an eternal inheritance that will never fade (Ephesians 1:13–14; 1 Peter 1:3–5).

A true relationship with Christ shows evidence in two ways. First, the Holy Spirit assures us inwardly that we belong to God (Romans 8:16). Second, our lives begin to display the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22–23). In Christ, we are made new (2 Corinthians 5:17) and are continually being transformed to reflect His image (2 Corinthians 3:18).
