Standing Firm in the True Gospel – Galatians 1

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

This Sunday, the CCC Men’s Fellowship continued our Bible study in the Book of Galatians, following the completion of Judges. Our focus was on Galatians Chapter 1, where we explored the calling and authority of the Apostle Paul and the truth of the Gospel.

Paul, once known as Saul, was a highly educated Pharisee trained under Gamaliel, with deep knowledge of the Jewish law. However, his life was completely transformed through a powerful encounter with Jesus Christ on the road to Damascus. From that moment, he became a devoted servant and messenger of the Gospel.

In Galatians 1, Paul makes it clear that his authority as an apostle did not come from man, but directly from Jesus Christ. He also addresses a serious issue in the Galatian church, where false teachers were adding the requirements of the Law to salvation. Paul firmly reminds believers that salvation is not earned through works, but is a gift of grace through faith in Christ alone.

A key verse we reflected on was: “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” This powerful truth encourages us to live lives fully surrendered to Christ, knowing that in Him we have eternal hope.

Through this study, we were reminded to stand firm in the true Gospel, to guard against false teaching, and to trust completely in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
