Life doesn’t pause when stress, anxiety, or pressure builds and for many students, it can feel overwhelming to carry everything on their own. This week, our High School group explored what it means to draw closer to God in the middle of life’s challenges.
In our series Closer, we are learning that prayer is not just a last resort—it’s our first response. God invites us to bring every worry, question, and burden to Him because He truly cares for us.
Key Scripture:“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7
What We Learned:We don’t have to carry everything alone. God’s presence is constant, and He desires a relationship with us where we depend on Him daily. Through honest prayer, confession, and trust, we can experience His peace—even in difficult situations.
We Focused On:
God is always present and cares deeply for us
We are called to depend on Him, not ourselves
There is mercy, healing, and freedom through confession
True peace is found in Christ
We can have hope, even in the middle of struggles
Our Response:Students were encouraged to practice honest, everyday prayer—bringing their real thoughts and emotions before God and learning to trust Him with what they cannot control.
Memory Verse Reflection (James 5:13–16):This passage reminds us that prayer is powerful and effective. Whether we are struggling, celebrating, or in need of healing, God calls us to pray, support one another, and walk together in faith.
Weekly Challenge:What is something you’ve been trying to carry on your own? This week, take a step of faith and give it to God in prayer. Trust Him to carry what you cannot.
