Salvation: The Day I Chose to Follow Jesus

This week, I was reminded of a song that holds a very special place in my heart: “Let Your Living Waters Flow.”

Whenever I hear this song, I am taken back to a defining moment in my life , the day I walked down the aisle to declare my love for Christ and receive Him as my Saviour.

Coming from a Hindu background, this decision was not a small one. Choosing to follow Jesus meant stepping into unfamiliar territory, and for my parents, it was a difficult journey to accept my decision. In our family and cultural context, leaving the religion I had grown up with was not something people commonly did. It was a real battle, filled with emotions, challenges, and the need for understanding.

But deep in my heart, I knew that my decision to follow Jesus was real. It was a personal response to the love and grace I had found in Him.

Looking back, I am reminded that salvation is more than a moment or a decision made at an altar. It is the beginning of a relationship with Jesus Christ one that continues to transform us, strengthen us, and draw us closer to Him.

Jesus said:

📖 “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” — John 7:38 (NIV)

Those living waters remind me of the new life, hope, and peace that Christ offers. My journey has not always been easy, but I am grateful for the grace that brought me to Him and continues to sustain me.

Perhaps there is someone reading this who is wrestling with a decision to follow Jesus, or someone whose family struggles to understand their faith. I want to encourage you: seek Him sincerely, trust Him, and allow His love to guide you.

Salvation is a personal response to God's invitation of grace. We may not always know what the journey ahead will look like, but we can trust the One who calls us to follow Him.

Today, that song reminds me of where my journey with Christ began — and how thankful I am that I said yes to Jesus. ❤️
